The mission of the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women is "to improve the quality of life for women and families in Oklahoma." The Commission was created by section 665 of Title 74 of the Oklahoma Statutes. The Declaration of Legislative Intent in the Act states "any inhibiting conditions caused by any factors which impede the ability of any individual to reach the full potential of that individual are matters of public concern." Such intent covers a broad range of issues and potential actions to be addressed by the Commission.
